For the second year in a row, Verbier has just been voted as The World’s Best Ski Resort 2022 and this wasn’t only due to its extensive ski area. The resort has a lot more to offer than just skiing and snowboarding and our concierge team know all the best people to help make your holiday a memorable one.

Whether you don’t ski or just fancy giving your legs a break, there are many activities to try both on the mountain and in Verbier town. I have created a list of my top 10 but if you’d like to hear more please get in touch and we’d be happy to share our favourite contacts from our little black book!

Izzy’s Top 10 Non-Skiing Activities

1. PARAPENTING

This is one of the most surreal experiences as you view the town from a bird’s eye view. The qualified instructors can take anyone from ages 3 to 93 – anyone is bound to enjoy flying around the snow-covered mountain tops whilst trying to spot your chalet!

2. COCKTAIL MAKING

Before the canapés are served, a great way for your group to rewind is to enjoy a cocktail in front of the fire. It’s even better with a mixologist teaching you how to mix all the correct flavours and to serve on ice with a garnish – a great skill to take home and certainly gets the night started!

3. MASSAGES

Whilst you’re away from home it’s only right that you recharge your body properly with a relaxing massage. No need to lift a finger, the amazing masseuses come to you and create a zen area to aid rejuvenation and release tired muscles.

4. SNOWY WALKS

A different way to explore the mountain is on foot (well, snowshoes) with a Mountain Guide. There are lots of walks throughout Verbier and each hike can be tailored to your fitness and interests. To help keep your children entertained, you can take the famous St Bernard dog, Nimba, for a snowy walk which includes a mini photoshoot so you can take home a lasting memory.

5. ZIPLINE

A big one for the bucket list – starting at 3,330m high, soaring for 1.4km and reaching speeds of 130km/h, making the Mont Fort Zipline the highest in the world and the longest in the Alps!

6. CHEESE MAKING

Ideal for a cloudy day. Learn the history of the local region, meet the friendly cows and make your own creamy, fresh cheese. This family run business has now opened a shop selling local produce (cheese, milk and yoghurts) as well as a 24/7 fondue cheese vending machine.

7. ICE CLIMBING

A perfect activity for the adrenaline junkies. This is certainly a thrilling way to explore the frozen waterfalls in the area. The experienced guide will help both beginners and experienced ice climbers.

8. PILATES AND YOGA

Stretching and activating your core is the best way to start your skiing day. The classes can be in the comfort of your own chalet or in the studio using the Reformer machines.

9. ICE DRIVING

Have you always wanted to race a Porsche? How about on ice? Try an ice driving course where all techniques are covered; braking, oversteering and drifting.

10. HELI-TOUR

The perfect chance for non-skiers to immerse themselves in the mountain scenery and appreciate the slopes and panoramic views from high above.

Once you have booked one of our gorgeous chalets for your holiday in Verbier, please get in touch and your Concierge Manager will be delighted to arrange any of these activities for your group! Availability is always limited and so we advise that you try and book pre-arrival.
