Europe Vs USA | Verbier Vs Aspen

If you’ve been considering Europe for your next ski holiday, now is the time.  Luxury skiing in Europe has never been more affordable. Capitalize on the strength of the US dollar and cross the pond to experience world-class skiing in the Swiss Alps.

Here at Ski Verbier Exclusive, we have been operating in Verbier since 1992 and have always believed that Verbier is the greatest ski resort in the world.  We operate a luxury chalet portfolio of 16 properties, each with unique features and styles but all of which offer a truly bespoke luxury experience.

Here are just three reasons why you might want to make Verbier your next European holiday destination:

Easy Travel
Regular direct flights from JFK to Geneva means Europe has never been closer.   Verbier is only 1hr 45 mins from Geneva airport or 40 minutes form Sion airport for anyone travelling by private jet.    Avoid the hassle of public transport by arranging a private transfer with our complimentary in-house concierge team,  or opt for the stunning scenic train route around Lake Geneva all the way to Verbier.

If you thought travelling to Aspen was easy, be aware that Aspen airport is often closed due to bad weather and flights are redirected further afield.  This can result in the far from luxurious experience of a shared shuttle bus back to Aspen then another shared bus to your hotel.

The Resorts
Verbier is one of the most perfectly situated ski resorts in the world, on a south facing sunny 1500m plateau, with superb skiing and charming chocolate box chalets.  Renowned for its heritage, Verbier perfectly celebrates a love of skiing with a cosmopolitan array of bars, shops and restaurants.  It is also one of the only resorts in the world where A-list celebrities, royalty and backcountry skiers can rub shoulders in the same place, safe in the knowledge that everyone in Verbier is simply there to enjoy the mountain, no matter who you are.
There is no doubt that Aspen is also one of the world’s greatest ski resorts, set at an altitude of 2,400m against a backdrop of the dramatic Rocky Mountains.  However, it is worth noting that it is also centred in prime bear country, so be prepared for the alarming sight of bear warning signs dotted around the resort!

4 Valleés vs 4 Mountains?
Arguably, Verbier has the most lift accessible off-piste skiing in the Alps while still offering a vast amount of piste skiing for beginners and intermediates.  The 4 Vallées is renowned for its extensive 410km  network of pistes with marked off-piste itinerary routes for more capable skiers, all of which are skiable in a day from Verbier.

The mountain town of Aspen is surrounded by four separate ski areas: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk (a favourite among beginners) and the ever-popular Snowmass ski resort. The problem with such vast ski areas is that each mountain is separate and a bus ride apart, which does limit your choice to one (or two) mountains a day.

A holiday with Ski Verbier Exclusive is a unique ‘home away from home’ experience, with friendly, experienced chalet staff to look after you throughout your stay.  Pre-arrival you’ll be looked after by a dedicated concierge manager who will arrange all the logistics of your holiday making the planning seamless and easy so the minute you arrive, you can relax in the complete privacy of one of our beautiful chalets and treasure your precious family time.

If you are tempted by the idea of an Alpine ski holiday,  Verbier will not disappoint.  Please call our sales team who will be delighted to find the perfect chalet for your next holiday.
