Here at Ski Verbier Exclusive, we are a small yet specialist team and are proud self-proclaimed Verbier experts. Between us, we have done more than 50 ski seasons as seasonnaires in one form or another and that’s not even including our seasonal staff! When you think about it, that is a staggering amount of experience. Whilst the majority of these have been in Verbier itself, there’s a few of us who have also ‘seasoned’ elsewhere – Trois Vallees, Val d’Isere, St Anton, Porte du Soleil and even the lesser known Are (Sweden) to name a few. With this in mind, it’s fair to say we really do know our stuff. Our ‘seasoning’ really does add to your experience as guests of ours, a little extra flavour you probably wouldn’t notice unless it wasn’t there. Here is a little insight into some of our experience, to give you the assurance that we really are experts in our field.
Our Founding Director Tom Avery started his ski career as a driver for Ski Verbier… a role so completely integral to our service now and perhaps this is the reason why? His drive for success (pardon the pun) has undoubtedly got us to where we are today. Elsewhere in the team, James (aka Dougie) now Head of UK Guest Relations, also started out his Ski Verbier Exclusive career as a Driver, soon progressing to Head Driver the following year, Assistant Manager in our flagship Chalet Chouqui the next and again to General Manager the year after. His knowledge and experience of resort operations is relied upon heavily in our UK office today.
Our General Manager Ruaridh has reached double digits and is still counting… This impressive number, of which more than half have been in Verbier, means you are in the very safest of hands. Ru oversees every guests holiday and experience to ensure it’s of the highest quality. He also knows everyone in resort worth knowing so he can pull strings and call in favours whenever required.
Izzy, who as pre-arrival Concierge Manager will now expertly plan your holiday to perfection in advance of your arrival, was once a chalet host and Chalet Manager for us just a handful of years ago. She knows our properties inside and out – her hands on experience of what goes on behind the scenes means she will think of everything for you to make the planning as easy as possible.
Laura, our Operations Manager is known internally as ‘the Oracle’. There isn’t a corner of a chalet she doesn’t know. Ask a question, as obscure as you can, and be guaranteed she will know the answer. From how many hooks on a door to the brand of the fridge, she knows it all. This kind of knowledge is absolutely priceless and we don’t know what we’d do without her.
Resort Manager Rachel, our resort team’s guardian angel has done her fair share of hard work, and it continues season to season. Having previously been a host and Chalet Manager, she has risen through the ranks the hard way, giving her the best experience to ensure our seasonal staff are trained and managed perfectly. They are what make your holiday so special!
