Having graduated from Exeter University with a first-class maths degree in 1999, Dan took a year out and travelled to Nepal to live for a year where he taught English in a village in the remote west of the country. The village was 5 hours walk from the nearest road and had no electricity or fresh water. The basic conditions were in stark contrast to those in Verbier but it sparked a love for travel which Dan still holds today.

Dan then went on to qualify as a chartered accountant with Bentley Jennison in 2004. In 2007 Dan went to work for Lloyds Banking Group where he took up the role of Financial Systems manager in the Life Assurance & Pensions division where he managed process mergers between Halifax Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Bank.

He first went to Verbier in 2012 to do a ski season having never skied before. That winter, Dan learnt to ski and fell in love with Verbier, he made it his home and spent 6 years there, first working for Ski Verbier and then the combined business of Ski Verbier Exclusive in 2014.

In 2017 Dan was promoted to Chief Financial Officer of Ski Verbier Exclusive and in 2018 he moved back to the UK and joined us in our office in the Cotswolds.

While in Verbier Dan found a passion for road cycling in the Alps and has never looked back, he now spends his free time in the saddle in and around his hometown of Bristol and regularly competes in races in the UK and Switzerland. He has also started cycle touring and recently returned from Belgium where he cycled the route of the Tour de Flanders complete with the famous cobbled climbs.

Dan is also a keen runner and has completed both the Chicago and Berlin marathons as well as numerous half marathons across the UK.
