Summer Camps Verbier

Verbier may be best known as a majestic mountain destination for all in the winter but when the snow disappears a huge range of family-friendly activities are uncovered to be enjoyed all summer long. Whether you are a thrill-seeker, just want to relax, or maybe something in between, there is something for all ages and interests in Verbier during the summer – we cannot recommend a summer escape to the mountains enough!

For many of our summer guests, our partners at Altitude Camps are the go-to team to look after their children during their time on holiday. While the children experience camp life in the mountains and create their own special memories, this also buys a few precious hours each day for the adults to follow their own passions and find that much needed relaxation and ‘off’ switch, before sharing stories of the day around the table over dinner, often served by a Ski Verbier Exclusive Chef in one of our luxury chalets.

Full day camps are available for 6-14 year olds and follow the same schedule as the residential campers from 0900-1600. Mountain adventures or French/English language lessons take place in the mornings, with sports, excursions and team games ahead in the afternoons.

3-5 year olds can join the morning-only ‘Marmot’ sessions which provide the perfect introduction to all the fun and adventures that Verbier offers for all ages in groups of no more than four.

Altitude Camps start the day at their chalet based in Patier, just a short walk or drive from most of our chalets, and many guests enjoy the more relaxing walk over after breakfast, which means you can wander back into town at your own pace via the shops and grab a coffee. Patier is also well located to walk up to the chapel and viewpoint at St Christophe (~30 minutes), from where you can follow the gentle ‘bisses’ network of irrigation waterways back around the mountainside to the top of Verbier.

Mountain Adventure age groups will enjoy a range of outdoor activities, sports and excursions that use and explore everything the wonderful mountains around Verbier have to offer. Children have fun, learn and build upon skills while making new friends in groups of no more than eight.

Marmots groups are no more than four, and activities take place in the grounds of Altitude’s Swiss chalet or outdoors in the surrounding area. The schedule includes a variety of sports, mountain adventures, arts & crafts, and team games.

With lots of families doing more than one week each, the activity and excursion list is designed to make sure things aren’t repeated regularly and each week can be slightly different with minimal repetition.

The one thing the team cannot always control in the mountains is the weather, but all the activities are designed to be interchangeable so that the fun is optimal in all conditions. Altitude’s passionate and experienced camp leaders will be checking on sun cream and headwear most of the time though!

If you’re not sure how to spend your time once you’ve dropped the kids off at camp, why not enjoy one of the many sports or activities available throughout the summer?

Your pre-arrival Concierge Manager or in-resort Chalet Manager will be happy to advise based on your interests and fitness levels (if required). If you prefer something more rejuvenating, we can arrange in-chalet massages for you or there are plenty of spas and more relaxing things to choose from. Any of these can be enjoyed in our luxury chalets in Verbier.
