The busy Summer Events Calendar, showcases talent from around the world. The summer highlights are the Verbier Festival, the International Showjumping competition and just down the valley, the famous Crans-sur-Sierre hosts the European Masters .

What could be more relaxing than classical music in the heart of the Alps? The Verbier Festival is one of the highlights of the summer calendar. Every summer for two weeks, Verbier plays host to one of the major, European music festivals. 2020 marks the 26th anniversary, where music lovers from around the world come together to enjoy music in the picturesque alpine setting of Verbier. From open air concerts to intimate recitals, the 1500m celebration has something for everyone’s taste. For two weeks it transforms Verbier with a buzz of classical music and culture.

In August, Verbier is transformed when the International Show Jumping competition sees the best horse riders from 20 different countries compete over 10 days. Entry is free and the arena draws international names such as the talented Laura Kraut and Robert Smith to compete against the stunning backdrop of the Combins mountains.

The majestic mountains of the Alps are the perfect setting to try out an E-Bike for the first time and the world’s biggest E-Bike event, Verbier E-Bike Festival is due to return again in August. Road, downhill or cross-country, no matter your discipline or your level, the E-Bike Festival has something for you. Everything from E-Bike tests, Rando Gourmande, discovery tours, Tour du Val de Bagnes, and much more. In September 2020 the UCI Cycling World Championships are also taking place near the governing body’s headquarters just an hour away.

On the doorstep of Verbier, the Omega European Masters is one of the most prestigious golf competitions played on European soil. Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf-Club is indisputably the most spectacular course on the European Tour schedule. This internationally-renowned golf competition, played on the same course for the 74th time in 2020, has seen players such as Spain’s Seve Ballesteros, José Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia, Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie, South Africa’s Ernie Els and Britain’s Lee Westwood win the coveted trophy. In 2019, Rory McIlroy agonisingly missed out on victory after a five person playoff!
